In 2023, I was made aware that an Instagram account was impersonating me and messaging artists for money in exchange for a published article. Art writers, critics, and editors will not accept, much less solicit, gifts or financial compensation of any kind from artists, galleries, or institutions in exchange for media coverage as this poses a conflict of interest and is against journalistic integrity.

The Instagram was eventually taken down, but my impersonator returned in 2024 and started emailing artists.
